How long does shipping take?
Shipping of in stock items takes 2-3 days within South Africa and 10-14 days internationally.
Which shipping company do you use?
We use The Courier Guy within South Africa and EMS or DHL for international shipments.
Do you make custom items?
Yes we do, please send us an email with the a detailed description of the item you require and attach a few reference images. We will get back to you with a quote.
Do you repair leather goods?
Yes we do, please bring your item into our Woodstock store and we’ll see if we can help.

Where do you source your materials from?
Our leathers are local game skins and are mostly tanned in Uitenhage, South Africa.
What is your returns policy?
Purchases made at our physical stores:
If you would like to change the colour or select a different style we have a ‘within 7 days of purchase’ policy and require a proof of purchase to be displayed to the sales person.

We proudly hand make every item we sell and hardly ever have any defective goods. If you receive an item that is not 100% satisfying please send us an email and attach a reference picture of the defect on the item. We will get back to you ASAP and if need be either repair or replace the item with the closest match possible. Due to the nature of using game leather it is not always possible to replace your item with an exact match in colour and/or texture but we always do our best. Once we agree to either repair or replace your item for you please ship the item to us at:

Caring for your bag
Cleaning a Rider 15″:
Your backpack’s leather pieces will go hard and stiff if they are placed in water for too long. Therefore the best way to clean your bag is to do it by hand using soap water, while doing your best to keep the leather pieces dry.
Caring for all leather bags:
Leather food is the best product to use to seal any scuffed and worn down leather pieces. Rub into the leather every couple months as necessary. Do not wash your leather bag in water.
Are your leather colours consistent?
Unfortunately our leather colours are not consistent because we rely on what our supplies get from the tanneries. We will always try our up most best to keep the colours as constant as possible and if a specific colour is no long available we will try find the closet match. We ask that you keep this in mind when ordering and we will notify you if there is a vast difference in colour.
What is your return policy?
We will gladly exchange any CHAPEL bag for another within 30 days of purchase. Product must be in the same condition you received it and in the original packaging. Kindly bring your purchase and provide a receipt or proof of payment to any one of our outlets and we’ll happily assist you. If the bags were bought online, kindly sent it back and we will repair or replace it for you. However please note that we do not do any exchanges or cash refunds on custom made orders.
What is your foreign customs policy?
Due to the nature of different countries custom policies we can not guarantee that you won’t get charged with a duty fee or VAT. We do however try our best to provide all the necessary information needed for each country so that you as the customer don’t run into any problems. CHAPEL will not be help liable for any additional charges you encounter when collecting your online purchase.
