It all started in 2009 with a single sewing machine in a living room in Cape Town, South Africa. We handmade our first product there — the now-famous Rider Backpack — a commuter bag for cyclists.
Since then we've been growing organically. We designed more bags, opened a few stores, (and closed them again), and sold hardwearing goods to hundreds folks who still use them today.
Part of the reason we've managed to stay relevant for over a decade is the belief in making things that last.
We make all our products by hand and intentionally source materials locally from suppliers we trust and admire.
We use only the best quality leather and canvas. And cut it with an expert eye. Then we let our masters behind the sewing machines do the rest.
